Habit:
A large native mint growing to 4 tall with fragrant ornamental foliage and
lavender-purple flowers. Grows in
meadows, prairies, open woods and savannahs. Also makes a fine garden
ornamental. A great nectar plant, this is an insect and butterfly magnate. Very
drought tolerant and trouble free. A biennial blooming the second year, it
readily reseeds on exposed bare ground. Highly aromatic foliage makes this
plant nearly deer proof.
